Well, the running didn't turn out so well, and with the very likely diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis in a couple of weeks, we joined the Racquet Club so I could swim again. After my bout with a kidney infection that had me sidelined for several days, and the big time suck of Madeline's swimming lessons for two weeks, I'm finally really getting down to it. This will be a training log of sorts and a way to help keep me motivated.
Today: 1500 meters. Almost a mile. I wasn't really sure how many meters was a mile, and I was hoping I guessed right, but when I did the calculations when I got home, I discovered I was a lap short. Damn. I felt really pretty good. Right now I'm working on building endurance, not so much speed, but I'm averaging a little more than minute per 50 m, so I'm happy with that. It's really been since before I was pregnant with Madeline that I've swum with any regularity - about 5 years. I love it. It is so peaceful and relaxing.

Geez, strong arms. I swam 800 m. (mind you with my hair in my face) and was like, that is ENOUGH.
ReplyDeleteyay! I hope that you continue to love it.
